Bring the Pain... LPANE.
Kevlar @ 11:04AM, 5/12/04
Amazingly, I will be avoiding semester workload complaints, LAN game suggestions and crazy college tales after some inactivity in the name of a greater story. A story which has implications for gamers across the New England area, and one which I am proud to be a part of.
In the past few weeks, T][S was graciously invited, along with about a dozen other parties, to help form an administrative group called the LAN Party Association of New England, or LPANE. For us, it was a chance to meet with our old friends in the scene and to talk about the future direction of our hobby and our passion. For you, Gamer Joe (yes I just named you Joe - what're you gonna do about it?), this is a chance to really see what the New England gaming community is all about and to get easy information on all LAN happenings. It really is an amazing job by bread_man from BL and JKT7 from LC, two of our friends from two great parties, to create such a dynamic, open-ended system that showcases LANs and provides centralized communications for all gamer parties.
Of course, don't mind me but I did find it sort of funny that our first unified act under the LPANE banner was to engage in a blindfold Instagib match.

Myself and Terrence from Pop'n'Fresh won the first match, mind you, so I have every right to poke fun. ;)
In all seriousness, though, LPANE looks to be a breath of fresh air for all parties and all gamers involved. Here's to a great new era for LAN fans, casual gamers, newbs, tournament competitors, and administrators in the New England area. Whether I'm blindfolded or not (just another Friday night for me), I look forward to it. :p
